Purpose:

The purpose of the Program is to implement new and unique methods to provide direct support services for victims/survivors of crime who are part of a marginalized population.

The purpose of the Program is to implement new and unique methods to provide direct support services for victims/survivors of crime who are part of a marginalized population.

Priority will be provided to entities that have the primary purpose and are currently providing direct support services to any of the following marginalized victim/survivor or crime groups: refugees, people/communities of color (identity-based communities that hold a primary racial or ethnic identity that describes shared racial /ethnic characteristics among community members, e.g., LatinX; Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC); persons with disabilities; low wage workers; LGBTIQA+; disadvantaged/foster youth; and gang violence.

Support services to be provided include responding to the emotional, psychological, or physical needs of the victims/survivors, assistance with understanding the criminal justice process, restoring a measure of safety and security, and assistance with completing compensation claims.

Applicants may either be a governmental or non-governmental entity with the primary purpose of providing services specifically designed to meet the needs of one or two marginalized victims/survivors of crime group(s) and meet the additional requirements outlined on page two of this RFP.
