Innovative Programming Grant
Details
Purpose:
The Innovative Programming Grant provides funds to non-profit organizations to expand programs currently provided in California state institutions that have demonstrated success and focus on an incarcerated person’s responsibility and restorative justice principles or with experience in providing programming in a correctional setting. Innovative programs are insight-oriented and focus on responsibility and restorative justice principles.
Description:
This project will provide $4 million in grants per year for three fiscal years ($12 million total) to non-profit organizations to fund innovative programs in one or more CDCR institutions. The grant period begins on July 1, 2025, and ends June 30, 2028. Grants shall be awarded to fund programs that provide insight-oriented, restorative justice programs as stated in California Penal Code § 5027.

- Other Legal Entity
A Fiscal Sponsor can be used if the applicant is not a Non-Profit organization.
