Purpose:

Implement the California Water Action Plan in the Coachella Valley

Description:

Eligible Applicants include state or local public agencies, nonprofit organizations, tribes recognized by the state or federal government and mutual water companies.

Any project that meets the statutory objectives of Proposition 1 will be considered, but applications for the following types of projects are particularly encouraged:

Conservation land acquisition projects that preserve watersheds or habitat areas for endangered species;

Watershed restoration or enhancement projects; or

Infrastructure projects that improve water management to reduce use or enhance efficient, or prevent flooding.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

  • Nonprofit
  • Other Legal Entity
  • Public Agency
  • Tribal Government

Other legal entities refers to mutual water companies.

Eligible Geographies:

Within the Coachella Valley or its surrounding mountains.

Matching Funding Requirement:

While matching funds are not required, applicants that can provide a minimum of 20 percent from other sources will receive priority.
